They're Playing My Song, released in 2012 on Rebel (REB-CD 1849), is Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers' third album, released weeks after the group won the 2012 IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year award. Mullins (banjo/vocals) leads the southwestern-Ohio band with Mike Terry on mandolin and vocals, Adam McIntosh on guitar and vocals, Evan McGregor on fiddle and vocals, and Tim Kidd on bass. The repertoire is traditional hard-driving Ohio bluegrass with gospel quartets and an Osborne Brothers medley — radio-DJ-curated programming from a working band. Mullins runs the Real Roots Radio network of bluegrass and classic-country stations in southwestern Ohio, and the album's repertoire reflects the on-air programming sensibility he had spent decades developing.
