Twenty Years of Grass, released in 2007 on Hay Holler (HH-CD 1379), is the tenth album and twentieth-anniversary release by Big Country Bluegrass, the Independence, Virginia band built around mandolinist Tommy Sells and his wife Teresa Sells on guitar and vocals. The sixteen-track set runs through the brisk, gospel-tinged Galax-area traditional bluegrass that defines the band's identity, with longtime sidemen Lynwood Lunsford on banjo, Billy Hawks on fiddle, lead singer Jeff Michael on guitar, and Alan Mastin on bass. The Sellses had founded the group in 1987 and stayed exclusively on Blacksburg label Hay Holler through their entire pre-Rebel run; Twenty Years of Grass marks both the anniversary and the closing stretch of that label era.
