Two Journeys (Howdy Skies HS-1004) is a 2001 CD by Tim O’Brien on his own Howdy Skies label, which he started in 1999. O’Brien produced it, and it was recorded at Groundstar Studios in Nashville. He sings and plays mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki and guitar on a program of his own songs, arrangements of traditional tunes and a Beatles cover. The guests include Darrell Scott on guitar, Dirk Powell on banjo and accordion, Dennis Crouch on bass, Kenny Malone on drums and percussion, and Kevin Burke on fiddle.

Several tracks add further guests. Karan Casey sings with O’Brien on “Demon Lover” and “What Does the Deep Sea Say?”; Maura O’Connell sings on “The Holy Well”; and Michael McGoldrick (low whistle), Paddy Keenan (pipes) and Niall Vallely (concertina) play on others. The title track, “Two Journeys (Deux Voyages),” is by Christine Balfa and Dirk Powell and includes a French-language vocal by Courtney Granger. “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)” is credited to Lennon and McCartney, with harmony by Darrell Scott and Paul Brady.
