¡Viva Terlingua! cover

¡Viva Terlingua! is a live album by Jerry Jeff Walker and the Lost Gonzo Band, released by MCA in November 1973. It was recorded in August 1973 at the Luckenbach dance hall in Luckenbach, Texas, and produced by Michael Brovsky. Most of it was recorded in the hall without an audience over several days, and two songs, “Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother” and “London Homesick Blues,” were recorded with one.

The nine songs include Walker’s own “Gettin’ By” and “Sangria Wine,” Ray Wylie Hubbard’s “Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother,” Michael Martin Murphey’s “Backslider’s Wine” and Gary P. Nunn’s “London Homesick Blues,” with Nunn on lead vocals. It also holds Walker’s recording of Guy Clark’s “Desperados Waiting for a Train,” two years before Clark released it himself on Old No. 1. The Lost Gonzo Band on the album includes Gary P. Nunn and Kelly Dunn on keyboards, Herb Steiner on pedal steel, Craig Hillis on guitars, Bob Livingston on bass, Michael McGeary on drums, Mickey Raphael on harmonica and Mary Egan on fiddle.
