"You Gotta Dig A Little Deeper," released in 2005 on Rounder Records (11661-0557-2), is a Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver album from the heart of the band's IBMA award dominance, featuring Jamie Dailey (lead vocals), Barry Scott, Jesse Stockman, Terry Baucom (banjo), and Lawson on mandolin. Recorded in the middle of the band's run of six consecutive IBMA Vocal Group of the Year awards (2001–2006), the album captures Quicksilver at their commercial and critical peak in contemporary traditional bluegrass. Baucom's banjo — a foundational voice in the Quicksilver sound — anchors the set, giving it sonic continuity with the broader arc of Lawson's catalog going back to the band's founding in 1979.
