He was for a time a member of Rock County, the band Rigsby formed after leaving the Lonesome River Band. He was the banjo player in Don Rigsby & Midnight Call on Hillbilly Heartache (Rebel, 2006), recorded at River Track Studio in Fort Gay, West Virginia, with Shayne Bartley on guitar, Jesse Wells on fiddle and Robert Maynard on bass. On that album he sang baritone on several songs and shared the lead with Rigsby on Tom T. and Dixie Hall’s “He Loves to Hear You Shout.” He was known as an admirer of the prewar banjos Scruggs had played.
