Beauty Fades is a 2004 debut album (HRB-01) by Hit & Run Bluegrass, a contemporary bluegrass quintet formed in Boulder, Colorado, in 2001 by guitarist and vocalist Rebecca Frazier and mandolinist John Frazier. The recording features Aaron Youngberg on banjo, Nashville session fiddler Aubrey Haynie — a multiple CMA Award winner who had recorded with virtually every major country and bluegrass act — Erin Coats on bass, and Todd Livingston in a supporting role. Recorded at Doobie Shea Studios in Boones Mill, Virginia, in July 2003 and released the following spring, the album balances original songwriting with well-chosen covers, pairing hard-driving bluegrass picking with Frazier's clear, high-lonesome lead voice and the ensemble's polished Appalachian harmonies.
