Blue Ridge Cabin Home was issued by County Records in 1978 (CCS 102) as a collection of Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs recordings made for Columbia in Nashville in 1955 and 1957. Its twelve tracks come from five sessions, produced by Don Law: 2 and 3 September 1955, and 27 January, 24 March and 11 July 1957.

Flatt sings lead on all but the instrumental “Shuckin’ the Corn.” Curly Seckler sings tenor on several, including “Blue Ridge Cabin Home,” “Some Old Day,” “I’ll Never Shed Another Tear” and “I’ll Take the Blame,” and Scruggs and Paul Warren join them on “Don’t Let Your Deal Go Down” and “Let Those Brown Eyes Smile at Me.” Scruggs plays banjo, Warren fiddle and Buck Graves dobro on every track, with Seckler on mandolin on most of them. The bass player changes from session to session: Ernie Newton in September 1955, Howard Watts and Onie Wheeler in January 1957, and Hylo Brown in July 1957.
