Bluegrass Evergreen (Old Homestead Records OHS 90072) is a studio album from the Goins Brothers — Melvin Goins and Ray Goins — the West Virginia traditional bluegrass ensemble that built one of the most durable regional careers in the genre through decades of festival appearances and independent recordings. Melvin Goins plays guitar and sings lead; Ray Goins plays fiddle and sings; Conley Goins plays mandolin; Buddy Griffin plays banjo; and William "Curley" Lambert holds the bass. The Goins Brothers' performing roots ran through the Lonesome Pine Fiddlers — where both played alongside Ray "Curly Ray" Cline — and their sound carried the rugged, unvarnished character of Southwestern Virginia and West Virginia mountain bluegrass. Old Homestead documented the ensemble as part of the Michigan label's effort to record regional acts working in relative commercial obscurity.
