Color of the Blues cover

Color of the Blues, released in 2003 on the Dutch label Strictly Country (SCR 55), is Bob Paisley and the Southern Grass's hard-edged Pennsylvania-bluegrass statement of the early 2000s. The sixteen-track set pairs Bob Paisley's bluesy lead vocals and guitar with son Danny Paisley on guitar and harmony, Bobby Lundy on banjo, Jon Glik on fiddle, and Hendrik Ahrend on bass. The lineup pointedly continues a two-generation traditionalist legacy: Bobby Lundy is the son of Ted Lundy, Bob Paisley's longtime bandmate in the Southern Mountain Boys of the 1960s and '70s. Color of the Blues turned out to be one of Bob Paisley's last studio recordings; he died in 2004, leaving Danny to carry on the family band under the same name.
