Earl Jam 2

Tony Trischka

Album · 2026 · Down the Road Records DTR00152

Earl Jam 2 (Down the Road Records, DTR00152) was released on 13 March 2026 as a companion to Tony Trischka’s earlier Earl Jam. Both albums are built on a cache of previously unheard recordings of Earl Scruggs and John Hartford informally jamming at Scruggs’s home between 1987 and 1998. Earl Jam 2 draws fifteen performances from that archive, and Trischka produced it with Lawson White.

Guests are credited track by track: Del and Ronnie McCoury on “Columbus Stockade Blues,” Bronwyn Keith-Hynes and Molly Tuttle on “Red River Valley,” Farayi Malek on “Mom & Dad’s Waltz,” Billy Strings on “Gentle on My Mind,” Sister Sadie on “Maple on the Hill,” the SteelDrivers on “Lost John,” Sierra Ferrell on “I Still Miss Someone,” Dudley Connell on “That’s All Right,” the Gibson Brothers on “Down in the Willow Garden,” Sam Bush on “Here Comes the Bride” and Bruce Molsky on “I Wish We Had Our Time Again.” “Old Cacklin’ Hen,” “Bill Cheatham,” “Boil Them Cabbage Down” and “Chicken Reel” are also on the album.
