The Cox Family's Everybody's Reaching Out For Someone, released on Rounder Records (CD-0297) in April 1993, marked the Cotton Valley, Louisiana family's first major-distributed release and the beginning of their national profile. Willard Cox plays fiddle and sings; Sidney Cox, banjo, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and dobro; Evelyn Cox, guitar and vocals; Suzanne Cox, mandolin and vocals. Alison Krauss—who first heard the family on a home tape passed around the festival circuit—produced the album at age 21, one of the youngest producers in bluegrass history, and contributes fiddle and vocals on select tracks. The album received a Grammy nomination; the family's follow-up with Krauss, I Know Who Holds Tomorrow (1994), won the Grammy for Best Country/Gospel/Bluegrass Album.
