Fired Up (Rounder 11661-0659-2, 2011) is the second album from Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, led by the Indiana-born champion fiddler and multiple IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year. Cleveland fronts a tight unit: Tom Adams (guitar, lead vocals), Jesse Brock (mandolin), Jessie Baker (banjo), and Marshall Wilborn (bass). Adams anchors most of the lead singing and contributes five original songs, and Vince Gill guests on "Bigger Hands Than Mine." The album debuted at #1 on the Sirius XM Bluegrass Junction most-played chart and ranges from hard-driving flatpicking showcases to traditional repertoire including "Going Back to Old Virginia," cementing Cleveland's profile as a defining instrumental voice in contemporary bluegrass.
