Hell Broke Loose brings together Ivan Rosenberg — a Canadian-based dobro and clawhammer banjo player who earned IBMA recognition as co-writer of the 2009 IBMA Song of the Year "Let the Healing Begin" — with bassist Bill McBee, known for his work with the Knoxville-area group Pine Mountain Railroad, and Nashville-based guitarist Mike Drudge, a veteran of the Jim & Jesse show at the Grand Ole Opry. Rosenberg's expressive resonator guitar style, rooted equally in the Appalachian old-time tradition and contemporary bluegrass, is the instrumental center of the recording. A complete discographic record — including release year, label, and catalog number — has not surfaced in public sources; this may be a limited-run or privately pressed project.
