I'll Sail My Ship Alone, the title of a Mac Wiseman album released by CMH Records in 1976 (CMH 6202), centers Wiseman's reading of the Moon Mullican-associated honky-tonk standard alongside ten other selections from his working repertoire. CMH was Martin Haerle's small Nashville label dedicated to traditional country and bluegrass; Wiseman cut several albums for the imprint through the mid-1970s. The program reaches across the bluegrass and country song tradition, all delivered in the clear baritone and unhurried phrasing Wiseman had refined over thirty years on record. The CMH catalog kept him visible to bluegrass audiences as his major-label profile receded.
