Lonesome and Blue, recorded April 2, 1986 and released by Rebel Records that year (REB 1647), is a Ralph Stanley secular bluegrass album from the Charlie Sizemore / Junior Blankenship era of the Clinch Mountain Boys. The session lineup included Sizemore on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Blankenship on lead guitar, Jack Cooke on bass, Curly Ray Cline on fiddle, and Stanley on banjo and tenor harmony. The program reaches back to Stanley Brothers material — including reworkings of Lonesome and Blue and So Blue from the older catalog — alongside newer selections. Like several other Rebel-era Ralph Stanley releases, the album has never been reissued on CD.
