My Cold Heart is the first album by Blue Mafia, a Muncie, Indiana, band formed in 2011 by Tony and Dara Wray, and was released in 2013 on Morgan Music Group. Dara Wray plays mandolin and sings, Tony Wray plays guitar, Cody Looper banjo, Michael Gregory bass and Kent Todd fiddle. Dara’s father, Dave Denman, is the only guest, singing harmony on two tracks and playing banjo on one.
Dara Wray wrote eight of the thirteen songs. Among the others are covers of “Many a Mile” and “Pretty Polly,” and the one instrumental is a banjo tune by Tony Wray. Three people take the lead vocals: Kent Todd, who opens the album with “Double Talking Woman”; Dara Wray, who sings the title song; and Tony Wray, on “Lonely Teardrops” and “This Mining Life.” Pinecastle Records later released the band’s Pray for Rain (2015) and Hanging Tree (2016).
