Precious Memories cover

Precious Memories was released on 17 April 1999 on Blue Eye Records. It was sold only at her Dollywood theme park, and all proceeds went to the Dollywood Foundation. Richie Owens produced it, and Parton is credited with lead vocals and the song arrangements.

The twelve songs are hymns and gospel standards, among them “Precious Memories,” “Power in the Blood,” “Amazing Grace,” “Old Time Religion,” “Farther Along,” “In the Garden” and “Keep on the Firing Line.” Musicians credited in the liner notes include Sam Bush on mandolin and fiddle, Al Perkins on steel and dobro, Gary Davis on guitar and banjo and Gary Mackey on fiddle and mandolin, with backing vocals from the Kingdom Heirs, the Kinfolks, Randy Parton and Rachel Dennison. Parton performed many of the songs on a TNN special on 1 April 1999 that also featured Alison Krauss and Union Station and the Cox Family.
