Sultan of Slide is a 2000 OMS Records album by resonator guitarist Josh Graves — cataloged here under the name Ben Greene, which appears to be a data error. Graves (1927–2006), who pioneered the three-finger Scruggs-style approach to dobro during his years with Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, recorded this late-career studio set with Nashville collaborators including fiddler Glen Duncan — a multi-IBMA and SPBGMA award winner — vocalist Jonell Mosser, and Jesse Cobb. The album demonstrates that Graves's slide work retained its distinctive authority more than four decades after he had first recast the dobro's role in the bluegrass ensemble, combining foundational technique with the musical range accumulated across a long and distinguished career.
