The Blue Sky Boys’ self-titled album was released by Rounder Records in 1976 (Rounder 0052). Bill Bolick sings and plays mandolin and Earl Bolick sings and plays guitar. It was recorded in Nashville at Starday’s studios, with liner notes by Bill C. Malone and Sundance credited as engineer.

The fourteen songs are “Don’t This Road Look Rough and Rocky?,” “Green Grow the Lilacs,” “The Lawson Family Tragedy,” “You Could Be a Millionaire,” “Curly Headed Baby,” “If I Could Hear My Mother Pray Again,” “Tramp on the Street,” “Searching for a Soldier’s Grave,” “Just a Strand from a Yellow Curl,” “Unloved and Unclaimed,” “Let Me Be Your Salty Dog,” “My Main Trial,” “What Does the Deep Sea Say?” and “When I Take My Vacation in Heaven.” The brothers had first recorded as the Blue Sky Boys for RCA in Charlotte, North Carolina, in June 1936, and had returned to the studio in the 1960s for Starday and Capitol.
