"The Room Over Mine," released in June 2008 on Rounder Records (11661-0589-2), is the major-label debut of Danny Paisley & The Southern Grass and the first album to explicitly carry forward both founding family legacies of the band. Danny Paisley (guitar, vocals) leads alongside his brother Michael Paisley (bass) and two sons of original co-founder Ted Lundy — T.J. Lundy (fiddle) and Bob Lundy (banjo, vocals) — with Donnie Eldreth completing the lineup. The Paisley and Lundy families had anchored the Southern Grass since Bob Paisley and Ted Lundy founded the group; this record made that dynastic continuity explicit and audible, and the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association cited it as a benchmark of traditional-style bluegrass on its year of release.
