The Stanley Sound Today, released by Rebel Records in 1981 (Rebel 1601), is a Ralph Stanley secular album recorded February 4, 1981 at Riverside Studios in Ashland, Kentucky with the Charlie Sizemore / Junior Blankenship lineup of the Clinch Mountain Boys. Four of the songs — Your Worries and Troubles Are Mine, Jealousy, How Could I Dream Such a Dream, The Letter I Never Mailed — were contributed by Candie Randolph. Junior Blankenship and Jack Cooke each took unusual lead-vocal spots on Jimmie Brown the Newsboy and Sittin' on Top of the World respectively. The program mixes Stanley Brothers classics and new material; the album has never been reissued on CD, making the vinyl release the only working source for the recordings.
