Ways of the World (Yodel-Ay-Hee 032, 2000) is Rayna Gellert's debut album, recorded live December 4–5, 1999, in the Kittredge Theater at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina — the school where Gellert had moved to study and where she came of age as an old-time fiddler. The twenty-track set features twin brothers Trevor Stuart (fiddle) and Travis Stuart (banjo) of Haywood County, North Carolina, already recognized as exemplars of the western North Carolina fiddle-banjo duet tradition. Most material is traditional, with two Gellert originals including "Swannanoa Waltz." Bluegrass Unlimited noted the Stuart brothers were "a big part" of a record that "took the old-time scene by storm," establishing Gellert as a distinctive new voice in the tradition.
