Who Will Calm the Storm (Strictly Country Records SCR 26, 1991) is a various-artists bluegrass and acoustic country compilation released by the Dutch independent label that became one of Europe's most dedicated documentation venues for American traditional music. The album gathers a wide range of American regional acts including Del McCoury, Bob Paisley and the Southern Grass, Liz Meyer, Lynn Morris, the Good Ol' Persons, Kathy Kallick, High Country, and Dick Staber, among others. Strictly Country Records, founded in the Netherlands, built a catalog of studio recordings and compilations documenting the American traditional and progressive bluegrass worlds for the European festival audience, and this compilation presents the breadth of the label's American connections at a productive early moment — one index of how thoroughly Dutch and continental European promoters had absorbed the full spectrum of American acoustic music by the early 1990s.
