The three swapped instruments through the set. On most of the twelve tracks Berline played fiddle, Bush mandolin and O’Connor guitar, as on “Huckleberry Hornpipe,” “Patty on the Turnpike,” “Beaumont Rag” and “Alabama Jubilee.” For “Teardrops in My Eyes,” which Berline sang with Bush on harmony, and for “Cattle in the Cane,” Berline took the mandolin and Bush the fiddle; Bush sang “I Am a Pilgrim.” “John Hardy” and “Big Sandy” were played on three mandolins, and the closing numbers “Gold Rush,” the instrumental Berline had written with Bill Monroe, “Sally Goodin” and “Birmingham Fling” on three fiddles. Custer’s Grass Band supplied banjo, bass, guitar and mandolin behind them, and Marty O’Connor recorded and edited the tapes. Mark O’Connor wrote the liner notes, and the record came out as OMAC-2.
