Carolina Chocolate Drops
The Carolina Chocolate Drops were an American old-time string band, a group that revived the Black string-band tradition.
- Were founded in 2005 by Dom Flemons, Rhiannon Giddens, and Justin Robinson.
- Studied with the older fiddler Joe Thompson of North Carolina.
- Won a Grammy Award for the album “Genuine Negro Jig.”
- Rhiannon Giddens went on to a widely honored solo career.
