Art Wooten
Art Wooten was an American bluegrass fiddler, often called one of the first fiddlers in bluegrass.
- Born in 1906 in Sparta, North Carolina.
- Was the first fiddler in Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys, playing the band's first Grand Ole Opry appearance in 1939.
- Later played with Flatt and Scruggs and briefly with the Stanley Brothers.
- Received the Brown Hudson Award from the North Carolina Folklore Society. He died in 1986.
