Chet Atkins was an American guitarist, arranger, and record producer, one of the most influential figures in country music.
- Born Chester Burton Atkins in 1924 near Luttrell, Tennessee.
- Developed an intricate fingerstyle guitar technique influenced by Merle Travis.
- As an RCA Victor producer, he helped shape the smooth, pop-influenced sound of Nashville recordings.
- Won numerous Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
- Died in 2001.
