Korth grew up in a musical family in Nelson. After high school she spent time on the Winnipeg music scene, touring as a side musician with the Juno-nominated songwriter Leith Ross across the UK, Europe, the US and Canada, and with Madeleine Roger and Trent Freeman of the Fretless. She also filled in on electric guitar with Boy Golden and played guitar in John Reischman’s band at a Canadian Folk Music Awards showcase. She recorded “The Weaving Hut” with Trent Freeman, John Reischman, Allison de Groot and Alan Mackie.

With her own Ella Korth band she has played bluegrass festivals including the Kluane Mountain Bluegrass Festival in the Yukon and the Cowichan Valley Bluegrass and Nimblefingers festivals in British Columbia, and she has opened for Mama’s Broke. She made her debut album in Nashville, produced by John Mailander.
