AJ Lee (2017) is the self-titled six-song release from the California mandolinist and singer AJ Lee, who leads the Santa Cruz string band AJ Lee & Blue Summit. Jon Abrams produced it and plays guitar, and Lee sings and plays guitar and mandolin. The musicians also include Dave Zirbel on pedal steel, guitar, banjo and dobro, Marc Doten on bass and keyboards, Paul Lacques on electric guitar, and Anthony Lacques on drums, percussion and marimba.

All six songs are by other writers: Gillian Welch and David Rawlings’s “Look at Miss Ohio,” Gram Parsons and Bob Buchanan’s “Hickory Wind,” Dallas Frazier and Earl Montgomery’s “California Cotton Fields,” Bob Dylan’s “Tomorrow Is a Long Time,” Doris Payne and Gregory Carroll’s “Just One Look,” and Herb Pedersen’s “Wait a Minute.” Molly Tuttle and Angelica Grim sing harmony on “Wait a Minute,” and Jesse Fichman sings backing vocals on “Look at Miss Ohio.”
