Bluegrass on My Mind (Starday Records SLP 481-498) is a multi-artist compilation from the Starday Records catalog presenting Don Reno, Bill Harrell, Eddie Adcock, Ronnie Reno, and David Bromberg alongside Charles "Buck" Ryan in a program drawn from Washington, D.C.-area bluegrass recordings. Reno plays banjo and sings; Harrell plays guitar and sings; Adcock plays banjo and sings; Ronnie Reno plays mandolin; Ryan plays fiddle; and Bromberg contributes guitar work. Starday's catalog of regional bluegrass and traditional country recordings gave the label material for compilation series across multiple decades, and this album assembles a cross-section of the mid-Atlantic bluegrass community — performers whose careers intersected through the same Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. festival and club circuit — into a program that documents the regional scene at a particular moment of its development.
