Carolina Hurricane (Rural Rhythm Records RHY-1062, 2010) is a studio album from Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road, the North Carolina traditional bluegrass ensemble that Jordan has led as singer, guitarist, and bandleader through multiple configurations since the 1990s. Jordan plays guitar and sings lead; Ben Greene plays banjo; Josh Goforth plays fiddle; and Brad Hudson, Dustin Benson, Greg Luck, Jason Moore, and Kevin Richardson contribute additional instrumental and vocal work. The album continues the straightforward hard-core bluegrass approach that has defined Jordan's recorded output — close vocal harmony and acoustic string-band ensemble playing — that has made Carolina Road a fixture on the Southeastern festival circuit and one of the region's most consistent working traditional bands across its decades of performing.
