Julia Belle: The John Hartford Fiddle Tune Project, Vol. 2 (StuffWorks Recordings, 2025) is the second installment of an all-female continuation project celebrating John Hartford's legacy as a fiddle-tune composer, produced by Sharon Gilchrist, Megan Lynch Chowning, and Katie Harford Hogue — Hartford's daughter — and released February 28, 2025. The eighteen-track album features forty-eight credited acoustic musicians, including Megan Lynch Chowning and Megan Lovell on fiddle and resonator guitar, Missy Raines on bass, Rachel Baiman on banjo, Sierra Hull on mandolin, Kristin Andreassen and Vickie Vaughn on vocals, and Sharon Gilchrist on cello. Thirteen pieces are original Hartford fiddle tunes; five are Hartford compositions in tribute arrangements. The project preserves the body of fiddle-tune writing Hartford sustained alongside his banjo work, steamboat piloting, and songwriting across his eclectic career.
