Live From the Ryman was recorded at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on 30 June 2022 and released on 16 August 2024 on 8 Track Entertainment. Dan Tyminski sings lead and plays guitar, with his touring band: Harry Clark on mandolin, Maddie Denton on fiddle, Jason Davis on banjo, Gaven Largent on Dobro and Grace Davis on bass. Clark, Denton and Largent also sing backing vocals, and Tyminski produced the album.
The thirteen tracks mix older material with songs from his 2023 album God Fearing Heathen, among them “Ode to Jimmy,” a tribute to his childhood hero Jimmy Martin, “Silence in the Brandy” and “GOAT.” “This Sad Song” is a song he first sang with Alison Krauss & Union Station on Lonely Runs Both Ways, and “I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow” is the song that won a Grammy in 2002. “Cumberland Gap” is the one instrumental. On the single “Whiskey Drinking Man,” previously unreleased, Tyminski hands solos to Clark, Denton, Largent, Jason Davis and Grace Davis in turn.
The album was nominated for Best Bluegrass Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, held in 2025.
