Mile Rocks and Friends, released August 12, 2015 by the Mile Rocks band, is a San Francisco father-daughter project led by Chris Wadsworth — founder of the FreshGrass Festival — and his daughter Robyn on lead vocals. The set runs through old-time and bluegrass standards with high-profile guests: David Grisman appears on "Sittin' on Top of the World," Molly Tuttle and John Mailander on "Windy Mountain," with additional contributions from John Reischman, Nick Hornbuckle, and Trisha Gagnon. The record sits at the intersection of family band and festival-pedigree session work — a hybrid form made possible by Wadsworth's FreshGrass producer relationships. The album showcases Robyn Wadsworth's then-teenage lead singing in an unusually well-resourced debut setting.
