Motel Shot is a 1971 album by Delaney & Bonnie & Friends released on Atco Records (SD 33-358). Conceived as an approximation of the informal late-night acoustic jam sessions musicians share in motel rooms while on tour, the album was recorded in the Hollywood Hills living room of engineer Bruce Botnick using a single Neumann microphone direct to two-track tape. Delaney Bramlett (guitar, vocals) and Bonnie Bramlett (vocals) anchor a remarkable cast of guests: Duane Allman (slide guitar), Gram Parsons (guitar, vocals), Leon Russell (piano, vocals), Dave Mason (guitar), John Hartford (banjo, fiddle), Bobby Keys (saxophone), Carl Radle (bass), Jim Keltner (drums), Bobby Whitlock, and Clarence White. The session yielded "Never Ending Song of Love," which reached number thirteen on the US chart and was widely covered.
