Shine On is a 2005 Rebel Records gospel album (REB-CD-1810) by Ralph Stanley, produced by Ralph Stanley II and recorded at Maggard Sound Studio in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. The album features the Clinch Mountain Boys — John Rigsby on mandolin, fiddle, and vocals; James Alan Shelton on guitar; Jack Cooke on bass; and Ralph Stanley II — supporting Stanley's unaccompanied lead vocals across a program of traditional sacred songs. Rigsby, who joined the Clinch Mountain Boys in 1995, plays a prominent role; his fiddle and close harmony anchor the spare arrangement of "On a High, High Mountain." Stanley's unadorned high-lonesome delivery, shaped by the Sacred Harp and shape-note traditions of southwestern Virginia, gives the album the austere devotional character that distinguished his sacred recordings.
