Traveler is a 2003 album released by Tim O'Brien on Sugar Hill Records (SUG-CD-3978), a set of twelve original songs self-produced in conjunction with O'Brien's Howdy Skies imprint. O'Brien (guitar, mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki, vocals) is joined by John Doyle (guitar, formerly of Solas), Casey Driessen (fiddle), Dirk Powell (banjo, accordion, piano), Darrell Scott (vocals), Dennis Crouch (bass), and guest appearances from Jerry Douglas (resonator guitar), Béla Fleck (banjo on one track), and Edgar Meyer (bass). The album reflects O'Brien's eclectic reach as a songwriter and his position at the center of the Nashville acoustic music community during the broad-based roots revival of the early 2000s.
