Use a Napkin (Not Your Mom) is a 1995 children's bluegrass album by Kathy Kallick released on Sugar Hill Records (SHCD 3833). Kallick (guitar, vocals)—a founding member of Good Ol' Persons and a fixture of the Bay Area acoustic scene—produced the set alongside Alan Senauke, drawing on a circle of Bay Area collaborators: Kevin Wimmer (fiddle, accordion), Sally Van Meter (dobro), Sandy Rothman (banjo, guitar), Todd Phillips (bass), John Reischman (mandolin, guitar), and Jody Stecher (mandolin, guitar, vocals). A children's choir adds voices to several tracks. The twelve-track set pairs original novelty songs—"Smelly Feet," "Bye Bye Kitty Zydeco," "C-H-I-C-K-E-N"—with traditional folk material rendered in full acoustic bluegrass style. The album won two Parents' Choice Awards and remains a beloved item in the Bay Area bluegrass family repertoire.
