We'll Still Sing On (Rounder Records 0205, 1986) is a studio album from the Johnson Mountain Boys, the Washington, D.C.-area traditional bluegrass ensemble that became the most committed practitioners of 1950s hard-core bluegrass style among the 1980s revival acts. Dudley Connell plays guitar and sings; David McLaughlin plays mandolin and sings; Eddie Stubbs plays fiddle and sings; Richard Underwood plays banjo and sings; and Larry Robbins holds the string bass. The album demonstrates the ensemble at their most settled and confident, delivering the Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, and Stanley Brothers repertoire alongside original material in the precise, close-harmony style that had made them one of the most discussed traditional acts in the country. The title's declaration of purpose captured the band's stubborn commitment to a style most of Nashville had long since left behind.
