Joe Walsh

Joe K. Walsh is a Minnesota-born mandolinist (NOT the Eagles guitarist) who became the first mandolin student at Berklee College of Music, anchored The Gibson Brothers during their 2012 IBMA Entertainer of the Year run, and now teaches at Berklee while leading Mr Sun with Darol Anger.
- Grew up in Duluth, Minnesota; became enthralled with mandolin after hearing the first David Grisman Quintet record.
- First mandolin student at Berklee College of Music; now an Associate Professor in the Berklee string department.
- Co-founded the pop-grass band Joy Kills Sorrow.
- Spent multiple award-winning years as the mandolinist for The Gibson Brothers, including their 2012 IBMA Entertainer of the Year run.
- Currently a member of the string band Mr Sun with Darol Anger, Grant Gordy, and Aidan O'Donnell; also performs in the Mike Block Trio and a duo with Matt Flinner.
- Former director of the Berklee American Roots Music string camp; co-directs Ossipee Valley String Camp; coordinator of Swannanoa Mandolin and Banjo Week; teaches via Peghead Nation.
- Endorsed by and signature collaborator with Northfield Mandolins.
- Praised by David Grisman as a "wonderful mandolin player" and by Darol Anger as "one of the finest mandolin players ever."
