Scott Vestal

Scott Vestal is a banjo player, builder, and producer who has anchored Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Continental Divide, the John Cowan Band, and the Sam Bush Band — an IBMA Banjo Player of the Year and Steve Martin Prize honoree whose Stealth Banjos are widely played by his peers.
- Born May 8, 1962 in Duncan, Oklahoma; long based in the Nashville area.
- Played with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver from 1985 to 1989.
- Member of David Parmley & Continental Divide (1994–1998).
- Member of the John Cowan Band (1998–2003) and the Sam Bush Band (2006–present).
- IBMA Banjo Player of the Year in 1996 (co-winner with Sammy Shelor).
- Recipient of the 2017 Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass.
- Designs and builds Stealth Banjos, known for an integrated/hidden 5th-string tuner.
- Operates Digital Underground recording studio in Nashville and works extensively as a session player and engineer.
