Bob Dylan’s songs have lived comfortably in the bluegrass repertoire from the early 1960s onward. “Wagon Wheel” started as a Dylan demo and became a massive bluegrass hit after Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show completed the verses in 2004. “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “The Times They Are A-Changin'” got picked up early and stayed. “Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright,” “Mr. Tambourine Man,” “Girl from the North Country,” “Boots of Spanish Leather,” “Farewell Angelina” — Dylan’s gentler, more pastoral songs make the easiest crossovers. Thirteen of his songs that bluegrass bands play.
Each song’s page on Picker’s Guide has chord charts, lyrics, recordings, and song history.
