Dale Reno
Dale Reno is a Virginia-born mandolinist who played with his father Don Reno's Tennessee Cut-Ups, co-founded The Reno Brothers with siblings Ronnie and Don Wayne, and tours under the moniker "Deacon" in Hayseed Dixie — a current member of The Reno Gang.
- Born February 6, 1961 in Roanoke, Virginia. Second son of bluegrass banjo legend Don Reno; brother of Ronnie Reno and Don Wayne Reno.
- Debuted on mandolin at Washington University in 1974 as part of the Tennessee Cut-Ups.
- Joined his father in the late 1970s on mandolin and worked with him until Don Reno's death in 1984.
- Played in The Cripple Creek Quartet with Don Wayne (1982 Grammy-nominated album for Reader's Digest).
- Co-founded The Reno Brothers in 1984 with Ronnie and Don Wayne; band ran until 2001.
- Founding/touring member of Hayseed Dixie (formed 2000), playing under the moniker "Deacon."
- Recorded the "Reno Bound" album (2013) with Mitch Harrell as Reno and Harrell.
- Plays mandolin in The Reno Gang alongside brother Don Wayne (banjo) and Ronnie (guitar).
