In BlueRidge he played upright bass alongside Junior Sisk on guitar, Joey Cox on banjo, Alan Bibey on mandolin and Alan Johnson on fiddle. On Side by Side (Sugar Hill, 2004) he sang tenor to Sisk’s leads and took the lead himself on Wesley Golding’s “Back to Cana.” On Gettin’ Ready (Pinecastle, 2005), recorded at Eastwood Recording Studio in Cana, Virginia, he sang harmony throughout and led the quartet on “Get Down on Your Knees and Pray.”

He was playing with Darin & Brooke Aldridge until the spring of 2011. In May of that year Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road announced that he would play bass for them on the road, and Jordan noted that his arrival made the band an all-North Carolina outfit, with Ben Greene on banjo, Josh Goforth on fiddle, Tommy Long on guitar and Jordan on mandolin and lead vocals. He shares the bass credit with Dustin Benson on the band’s second Rural Rhythm album, Back to My Roots, released early in 2012.
