Kristin Scott Benson
Kristin Scott Benson is an American bluegrass banjo player, the banjoist of the Grascals and a multiple-time IBMA Banjo Player of the Year.
- Grew up in Union, South Carolina, beginning on mandolin before taking up the banjo at age thirteen.
- Has been the banjo player for the Grascals since 2008.
- Has been named the IBMA's Banjo Player of the Year seven times.
- Received the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass in 2018.
- Was inducted into the American Banjo Museum's Hall of Fame in 2024.
- Recorded a duo album, “Pick Your Poison,” with her husband, the mandolinist Wayne Benson.
