Lonnie Hoppers
Lonnie Hoppers was an American bluegrass banjo player, a longtime figure in Missouri bluegrass music.
- Born Lonnie George Hoppers in 1935 in Goodson, Missouri.
- Began performing professionally at seventeen with the Ozark Opry at the Lake of the Ozarks.
- Was a member of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys from 1962 into early 1963, recording two sessions with Monroe.
- Later performed for years in the Kansas City area, including with a young Dan Crary.
- Played the Silver Dollar City attraction in Branson, Missouri, from 1978 to 1984.
- Died in 2024 at the age of 89.
