Pete Seeger
Pete Seeger was an American folk singer, banjo player, and songwriter, a defining figure of the American folk revival.
- Born in 1919 in New York City.
- Co-founded the Almanac Singers with Woody Guthrie and the Weavers.
- Wrote songs including “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?” and “If I Had a Hammer.”
- Was blacklisted during the McCarthy era and later received the National Medal of Arts. He died in 2014.
