Let Him Lead You, released by Rebel Records in January 1989 (REB-1673), was Jim Eanes's third album for the label — an all-gospel project recorded at Innovative Sound Studios in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on July 31 and August 5, 1988. Produced by Eanes and Craig Smith, the album features Smith on banjo and guitars, Ray Cline on lead guitar, Tony Williamson on mandolin, Jimmy Edmonds on fiddle, John Palmer on bass, and vocal harmonies from Danny Bowers and Mark Wingate. The program includes the title track, In His Arms I'm Not Afraid, Mother Taught Me How to Pray, and a closing reading of When They Ring Those Golden Bells — the sacred repertoire that had been central to Eanes's catalog for forty years.
