Live at the Legion

Billy Strings and Bryan Sutton

Album · 2025 · Reprise

Live at the Legion is a live album by Billy Strings and Bryan Sutton, recorded on 7 April 2024 at American Legion Post 82 in Nashville and released as a surprise on 7 April 2025, a year to the day later. It has 20 tracks, described in the announcement as traditional bluegrass and folk songs, and includes new renditions of Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright” and Doc Watson’s “Way Downtown.” Some tracks pair two tunes, among them “Randall Collins > Done Gone” and “Salt Creek > Big Sandy River.”

The set opens with “Nashville Blues,” “Tom Dooley” and “Little Darling Pal of Mine,” and also holds “Cold, Cold World,” “Give Me Back My Fifteen Cents,” “Groundhog,” “Darling Corey” and “Mary of the Wild Moor.” It appeared on Reprise Records. Strings had won the Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album for his Live Vol. 1 at the 67th Grammy Awards, and the release came with an announced series of ticketed fall shows, including dates at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and the Bluegrass Hall of Fame & Museum in Owensboro, Kentucky.
